Fountain University Vice Chancellor’s Cup 2021

In August, the Vice Chancellor’s Cup returned to our campus and once again we drew a good number of students to participate in a wide variety of challenges. This free event took place on campus from the 13th of August to 11th of August and was a tournament between each level of the University.

Activities included Football, Tennis, Sudoku, Badminton, race and so much more!

On Tuesday, 17th of August 2021, the Football final of the VC’s Cup which was supposed to be on the 11th of August, but due to the absence of the Vice Chancellor, got postponed, comes up and it was between the 400l team and the 300l team. The Event was graced by the presence of notable staffs of the school. The Dean of Student Affairs, declared the match open due to the absence of the Vice Chancellor.

During the first half of the match, Najim of the 400l team scored the first goal and Pedro of the same team scored another goal to make it 2:0.

After that, lots of efforts were put into the match by the 300l team to come back but all to no avail till the first half ended.

The second half began with the 300l coming out stronger but unfortunately the 400l got hold of them and another goal was scored by Pedro of the 400l team.

At the end of the match, the 400l student were crowned the winner of the match with a 3:0 win.

As the Football final was brought to a close, everyone crowded around, eagerly awaiting for the results of the tournament.

The teams were awarded points for each activity they attended and additional points for where they placed in the competition, with most points for winning.

Mr Akintunde, a lecturer in the Department of Mass Communication announced the result and Participants from each category of activities that took place during the VC’s Cup were given a medal to congratulate their performance.

The Level that came first through out the course of the event was the 400l. The second position went to the 200l and the 3rd went to the 100l. The 300l came last due to their poor performance.

As the winner was announced, the 400l went wild they took the victory. All participants and observers thoroughly enjoyed themselves and can’t wait for next year!
